Training & Ongoing Support
Most folks who call us have never thought about who they’d trust to rekey their front door until they’re standing in their driveway without keys. Same goes for running a Strongbox shop. You don’t need a background in locksmithing. We’ve built a training system that takes people with good judgment and a steady hand and makes them into technicians their neighbors rely on. The flat price quoted on the phone, the ID at the door, the 90-Day Done Right Promise - these aren’t instincts people are born with. We teach them.
Initial Training
Your first two weeks happen at our training facility, not behind a computer screen. You’ll work on actual locks: Schlage deadbolts, Medeco high-security cylinders, Mul-T-Lock interactive systems, Baldwin mortise hardware, Yale smart locks, Kwikset SmartKey resets, and Sargent commercial-grade lever sets. We don’t believe in learning from PowerPoint. You pick up a pinning kit, you cut keys by hand, you drill out a broken extractable. You make mistakes where it doesn’t cost a customer their Saturday.
The operations side runs parallel. We walk through the software that handles dispatch, the flat-price quoting system that protects both you and the homeowner, and the hiring playbook that helps you find technicians worth badging. Marketing setup covers local search, the direct-mail campaigns that still pull in our demographic, and how to talk about the Keystone Standard without sounding like every other service company. By the end, you’ll have opened locks you couldn’t name two weeks prior, and you’ll know exactly what to say when someone asks why your quote is higher than the $19 ad they saw online.
Launch Support
Opening day isn’t a ribbon-cutting and a prayer. Our field team embeds with you for your first jobs: listening to your calls, riding along on lockouts, watching how you quote a rekey for a four-bedroom in a neighborhood you’ve never worked. We review your first invoices to make sure the price on the phone matches the price on the paper. No surprises on the bill starts on day one.
The lead engine gets configured to your territory before you hang your sign. Local marketing materials ship to your shop: door hangers, yard signs, the referral cards that work in towns where people still know their neighbors. We coach you through those first nervous calls - the homeowner locked out at 11 PM, the property manager with six units to rekey by Friday. You’ll have someone on the line who has handled both a hundred times.
Ongoing Support
- Field coaching and ride-alongs. A Strongbox veteran visits quarterly to watch jobs, review calls, and catch the small habits that separate a journeyman from a guy with a toolbox. We don’t send binders. We send people who still pick locks.
- Marketing that stays local. National brand campaigns run year-round, but your territory gets customized support: seasonal promotions (the $89 Seasonal Tune-Up, the standing $50 Off Any Repair Over $250), senior and veteran discount messaging, and help placing ads where your specific homeowners actually look.
- Vendor relationships and pricing. You buy Schlage, Medeco, Mul-T-Lock, Abloy, Baldwin, Yale, Kwikset, and Sargent at rates negotiated across our 11 locations. No haggling with distributors. No wondering if that cylinder is genuine or gray-market.
- Technology and systems updates. The flat-price quoting tool, dispatch software, and customer records stay current. When we improve something, you get it. No upgrade fees, no version confusion.
- National brand campaigns. The 90-Day Done Right Promise, the live-person answering, the background-checked uniformed technician - these aren’t slogans we expect you to invent. They’re assets we maintain and amplify, so your shop benefits from credibility you didn’t have to build alone.
- Peer network of owners. Monthly calls with other Strongbox operators. Someone in a different state already solved the problem keeping you up. We make sure you can ask them.
You’re Never Alone
The person who opens someone’s locks should be the most verifiable person they’ve ever hired. We make sure that’s you. Call (877) 664-8139 to talk through what the first ninety days look like, or request more information below. We’ll answer. A real person, not a queue.
